Home Funeral Guide & Pet Death Doula Services

Many people are unaware that home funerals are safe and legal in all states of America. Just as most births used to take place in the home, so did most deaths, and as more and more people are leaning towards home births now, people are also leaning towards dying at home, surrounded by their friends and families. A home funeral provides a space for grief that traditional funerals sometimes do not.

As a home funeral guide and celebrant, I help families remember the traditional skills of caring for their deceased loved ones. I guide families on bathing, dressing and shrouding their loved one’s body, crafting unique ceremonies to honor the deceased, and completing and filing legal paperwork.

Death is not a medical event, and every person has the ability and right to care for their deceased loved ones. The simple act of washing and caring for your loved one after they have passed can provide a powerful connection for families. A home funeral also gives you the space to grieve on your own time, in your own space, and however feels right for you.

Please reach out if you have any questions, or would like to schedule a free consultation. I have a set charge of $75 per hour but I also offer sliding scale payment options, as I believe no one should be denied the right to this sacred act.

I also offer death doula services for your animal companions, I believe our pets are our family, and deserve the same love, compassion, and care as our human relatives at the end of life. I also offer these services with sliding scale payment options.
