Ironhorse Homestead

Unique, rustic, natural, slow made

Our Homestead

We live on 19 beautiful acres of Ohio countryside, where we are building our homestead. Along with chickens, ducks, turkeys, and an extensive herb and vegetable garden, we raise alpacas, angora goats, and Navajo Churro sheep for their fiber. That fiber is handspun or sent to the mill to be made into yarn, and woven into the items we sell to maintain the farm. Alaura is also a trauma-informed Aromatherapist and avid student of herbs. She personally hand-makes herbal and essential oil blends to aid health and wellness. She is also available for one on one consultations. In addition to that she is also a home funeral guide, pet death doula and board member of the National Home Funeral Alliance. Her deathwork is an important aspect of her life both in educating people about community-led deathcare, and in opening the conversation around death. We believe in a slow approach to life, so take a breath and slow down with us.

We aren’t in a hurry

We believe life shouldn’t be a race, all of our products take time to make, whether it’s raising the animal, growing the plant, or the small batches all our products are produced in, we believe quality takes time.
